Blue Marine's Mission
Blue Marine Foundation seeks to protect and restore life in the ocean. Our mission is to see at least 30 per cent of the ocean protected by 2030 and the whole ocean sustainably managed. We support low-impact fishing and equitable use of the ocean and address overfishing – one of the world’s biggest environmental challenges.

Blue Marine’s legal team has undertaken significant legal work in the UK and abroad, striving to trigger change and making sure that the marine ecosystems are adequately protected by encouraging the enforcement of environmental laws. Our legal work has grown significantly, and we are now looking for a non-practising solicitor / legal academic to help triage the work we undertake for our range of outsourced legal professionals (some paid – some pro bono) and to help assist with our range of legal and investigatory work. Blue Marine works in multiple jurisdictions across many sectors of law and is involved in cases as diverse as oyster restoration licensing to complex international arbitration to drafting marine regulations. Because of the importance of our work, we have been able to work alongside some of the best legal minds in the business as well as some of the world’s leading media outlets.
We are at the heart of cutting-edge marine conservation with headquarters in London but operating globally. This is an incredible chance to join our highly impactful charity; we look forward to hearing from you!
